This week, the international music publishing industry mourned the loss of our ICMP and Warner Chappell colleague and friend Matthew Capper.
Chair of AMPAL (ICMP MPA Australasia) Clive Hodson: “Matthew and I worked very closely together at board level, me as deputy to his chair. During the almost 10 years we worked together I witnessed his passion and drive to ensure AMPAL’s relevance was front and center for board members, publishers and the music industry.
I will miss Matthew greatly for his friendship and dedication to his role as a former chair of AMPAL. Our thoughts are with Matthew’s family and friends at this sad time. He will be missed by many.”
Director General of ICMP: “As a guitarist Matt was a music maker. As a person he was a music lover. In his work he was a music defender. A discreet man, he guarded big talents closely, such as a great elan for painting. His eye for detail was matched by his quick smile for a joke. Not just a valued colleague, he was one of life’s good guys. Amid immeasurable pain for his family, I hope they take some solace in the collective condolences of all of us at ICMP and gratitude for his time with us. Rest in peace Matt.”
ICMP Chair Jackie Alway: “Matthew was one of our industry’s outstanding contributors. He gave his time generously and effectively in many different rooms and will be sorely missed. For ICMP he served as a Board Member, Treasurer and Chair of our Australasia & Asia Regional Group.
We will miss his knowledge, common sense and sheer passion for music. There are no adequate words but our sincere thoughts and prayers are with his family.“
