The International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP) has welcomed its latest national trade association to its global membership.
The Music Publishers’ Association of Iceland (‘MPA Iceland’), which collectively represents the sector in this important music market, becomes the 80th national group among ICMP’s network which spans 6 continents.
ICMP – the global trade body representing ‘Majors’, ‘Indies’, sectoral associations such as ‘The International Production Music Group’ and these worldwide national groups, or MPAs – works to defend the rights of music publishing companies and their songwriter and composer partners. On aggregate the trade body’s members represent the rights behind approximately 90% of the world’s commercially released music. ICMP’s primary task is to optimise the business and legal environment for music to thrive.
